By submitting a “tree” you agree to us using photos for marketing and promotional purposes.
This competition is open to all students and staff at Canterbury Christ Church University
The closing date for the COMPETITION will be the 17th of December 2025. Entrants will be judged by a panel of Christmas tree experts under the careful eye of Father Christmas and will assign the winners on social media on the 18th of December 2025.
Judges decisions are final.

All trees must be accessible, whether in person or virtually
SCORE CARD
Decorated trees will be judged on the following criteria:
- Originality and visual appeal 30%
- Sustainable and environmentally friendly 30%
- Best portrayal of your chosen theme 30%
- For integrating a visible Christ Church University logo into your theme 5%
- a direct reference to your favourite Christmas movie 5%
To be eligible to win, entrants must have trees completed and picture-ready for December 17, 2025. Entrants must post at least three photos on Instagram or Twitter tagging in @chaplaincycccu @canterburychristchurchuniversity and using the hashtag #merrycccu: at least two photos of your finished tree (and another close-up photo of any detailing on your tree
The entries of the prize winners may also be featured on our website and in the 2026 Staff Christmas carol service order of service . By entering, entrants agree to abide by these official rules and the decision of the judges, which shall be final. By entering this contest, entrants agree that their entries may be posted on the chaplaincy website.
